Precautions for using a self-service car wash machine to wash a car

Pubtime:2024-03-25

1. Cleaning should be done after the engine hood has cooled down

It should be noted that whether you go to a car wash or do it yourself, you should clean the car engine hood after it has cooled down. Especially in summer, do not clean the car in strong sunlight, as this can cause premature aging of the car engine.

2. Different stains are treated differently

Please note that different stains require different cleaning methods and different cloths.

For example, when cleaning the car body, a dispersed water jet should be used, and high-pressure water should not be used for flushing. Excessive water pressure can damage the paint surface of the car body. If there is hard dust and mud on the car body, soak it in water first, then rinse it off with water, and then use a soft and clean sponge to scrub from top to bottom. When scrubbing, the sponge should be washed frequently in clean water to avoid leaving scratches on the paint surface. Use a dry cloth to wipe off the water stains.

If encountering oil stains, gently wipe with a sponge dipped in kerosene or gasoline, and then apply polishing paste to the wiped area to make it shine as before.

3. When wiping, attention should also be paid to the materials used

When wiping the glass on the car door, do not use cleaning agents containing abrasives. It should be soaked in glass water first, then cleaned with a sponge soaked in clean water, and then wiped with a soft cloth. Wipe plastic and rubber parts such as steering wheel and lighting fixtures, only with ordinary soap and water, and not with solvents such as gasoline, stain removers, and diluents.

4. Pay attention to methods and details

Attention should be paid to details such as the center console. Some car owners may say that they just wipe it with a cloth. Is there anything to nag about? Although that's the case, it also requires some skill to clean the center console. Just like some people always keep their floors clean without much cleaning, while others keep mopping around all day and still have dirt everywhere. This is the difference in skill.

5. Be cautious when cleaning paint surfaces

Pay attention to maintaining the paint surface of the car body. Due to long-term exposure to the air, the paint surface of a car is contaminated and damaged by dirty air, asphalt, and gravel, making it easy for the paint to peel off. Therefore, hard cleaning tools such as plastic brushes, regular towels, or coarse cloths should not be used to wipe the car to avoid leaving scratches. In addition, in order to protect the gloss of the car paint surface, it is necessary to regularly polish the vehicle if conditions permit.

6. Cleaning the dashboard

To clean the dashboard, use a soft cloth and cleaning agent. Be careful not to rub the dashboard into a large flower face, otherwise you will not be able to visually transmit information such as speed while driving.
