Precautions for driving in hot weather
Pubtime:2024-03-25
Fatigue driving, vehicle self ignition, and over limit transportation are the main reasons for frequent traffic accidents in summer. When driving in hot weather, pay attention to the following points:
1. Do not immediately turn off the car engine if it overheats
Strictly prevent engine overheating and prevent cars from "boiling". If the engine temperature is too high, immediately stop in a cool place. The reason why the engine boils is because the water temperature inside the water jacket is too high, that is, the temperature of the tank sleeve, cylinder wall, and cylinder head is too high. If the engine is turned off at this time, the parts are in an expansion state, and the clearance between each fitting is very small. After stopping, it will cause some soft metals to fall off, and some may even cause cylinder sticking.
2. Do not wear sunglasses that are too dark in color
The dark color of sunglasses can delay the time it takes for the eyes to send images to the brain, and this visual delay in turn causes distortion in speed perception, causing drivers wearing sunglasses to make incorrect judgments.
3. Do not store flammable materials in the car
Avoid placing flammable and explosive items in the car, such as lighters, perfume, spray, power packs, aerated drinks, pop cans, and even bottled water.
4. Regularly check the air pressure of car tires
As the temperature and road surface temperature gradually increase, tire pressure can easily rise during high-speed or long-distance driving, leading to a tire blowout. In order to reduce pressure, please park your car frequently.
5. Tire condition and tire pressure
The principle of thermal expansion and contraction is equally important for tire pressure. In summer, due to the high road temperature, the pressure in the tire will change over time. The pressure value during high-speed driving, combined with the softening effect of high temperature on the tire, is prone to tire burst. At the same time, don't forget to check the surface and tread of the tire. Any cracks or localized wear should be handled with caution.
6. Prevent car self ignition
Before traveling, check whether the high and low voltage lines of the vehicle are short circuited or aged, whether the plugs are loose, whether the battery is in normal working condition, and whether there is oil leakage in the oil circuit. Equip the vehicle with fire extinguishers and master the operation methods proficiently to prevent accidents.
7. It is not advisable to keep the air conditioning on for a long time
Vehicles equipped with air conditioning have better sealing performance. The vast majority of people feel dizzy and tired after staying in this environment for a few hours, coupled with the large amount of carbon dioxide exhaled by passengers inside the car, causing a sharp decrease in oxygen inside the car. Therefore, the working state of the air conditioning should be adjusted appropriately, or the windows should be opened for ventilation at regular intervals.
8. Vehicle parking precautions
Do not park vehicles in large trees, billboards, or areas without fences during thunderstorms and heavy winds in summer; If the rainfall is too heavy, try to park the vehicle in a location with smooth drainage or higher terrain. If the vehicle has been submerged in water, do not ignite it. Notify the insurance company and 4S store of the time.
Also, remember to take frequent showers for your car to cool it down!
